The mission of Parents
in Adult (PIA) is to serve parents who work in the adult
industry. PIA wil acomplish this through two main areas:
• Research and Education
• Litigation and Legal Services.
Parents in Adult is the only philanthropic organization dedicated
to serving parents in the adult industry. With AVN as our
partner and renewed commitment from No Rivals, PIA will
be significantly expanding its resources in 2007 as well as
completely redesigning the website.
Current Services Include:
• Articles and Interviews: Important articles and resources
which address the unique nature of being a parent involved
in the Adult Industry.
• Progressive Parenting: Provides both in depth and
brief articles / research tailored to help parents tackle
today’s tough parenting challenges.
• Attorney Directory: In the event you do need legal
council, our staff has personally spoken to each and every
one of the first amendment and family law firms and attorneys
listed in our directory. Each of there firms has been reviewed
by Martindale (www.martindale.com) and have been positively
reviewed by their peers. They all understand our industry
and its unique challenges. They are willing and capable to
help!
• Resources: Looking for additional resources on dealing
with your children, case law, or related issues. You’ll
find them here.
• News: We have worked hard to pull the most relative
news all into one place.
Services in development include:
• Legal Spotlight: The level of interest we have received
from the attorney’s has been incredible. Many of them
have inquired about writing featured articles. This is where
you’ll find them. Timely, provocative, and relevant
to our needs.
• Legal Defense Fund: One of primary goals of PIA is
to be able to provide our members who cannot afford it, the
financial resources for their Legal Defense.
• Proactive Litigation: Nothing challenged, nothing
changed. PIA will be working with and through our attorneys
and other organizations to change how these cases are handled
and the consequences of making false allegations.
• Academic Research: every argument made against our
industry is followed by a slew of research and so called "fact".
While these research articles and "facts" are biased
and misinterpreted they do have us at a disadvantage. There
really is very little significant research to support our
positions. Especially as parents. Therefore PIA will be working
toward building relationships with key academic institutions
to study issues important to our industry and especially the
parents working in it.
• Boards: A highly secure environment where we can discuss
various issues pertaining to parenting and the challenges
we face.
• Psychology Spotlight: The “Dear Abby”
of our industry! We have secured the involvement of some top
child and family psychologists who will be answering questions
and submitting relative articles.
